Russia Accuses Georgia of Firing Russian Border
(Tbilisi, August 28 2002, Civil Georgia) Russian Border Guard of North Caucasus accused Georgia that Russian borders were fired from Georgian side on August 27. Russian Border Guard sent a letter to the Georgian Department of Border Guard and protested the incident.
Press-office of Georgian Border Guard categorically refused Russian blame. According to the representative of the Department of Georgian Border Guard, Observer Mission of OSCE monitors Georgian-Russian border and they can approve Georgian position.
Georgian Border Guard also refused the information released by the Russian media and officials that small groups of Chechen fighters are moving towards Russian border.
