Georgia Accuses Russia of Violating UN Charter
(Tbilisi, August 27 2002, Civil Georgia) Permanent representative of Georgia to UN Revaz Adamia informed the Security Council that Russia “explicitly violated” international law and UN Charter. Adamia said Georgian side is convinced that Russia bombed Georgian territory August 23, which caused casualties.
Revaz Adamia accused Russia of “state terrorism” on the special press conference and stated, “such actions threatens peace and international security. This may drag the whole Caucasus into war”, informs “Interfax”.
According to Adamia, Georgian side will not address Security Council officially concerning this incident.
Russia bombed Georgian territory August 23. The bombardment caused casualties: one person is dead and seven wounded.
