Russian Envoy Met with Jergenia

(Tbilisi, August 26 2002, Civil Georgia) On 26 of August Russian MFA issued a statement, according to which special envoy of Russian President to Abkhaz conflict issue Vladimir Loshinin visited Abkhazia, where he met with the Prime-Minister of self-declared Abkhazia.

Current relations between Tbilisi and Sukhumi were discussed, special attention was paid to the situation in Kodori Gorge.

President Shevardnadze stated at the briefing on 26 of August that it is not necessary to accelerate the process of Russian peacekeeping troops withdrawal.
