Woman and Child Dead as a Result of Bombardment

(Tbilisi, August 23 2002, Civil Georgia) – According to preliminary information, a woman and a child died after Russian jets bombed the Georgian territory today, Valeri Khaburdzania, State Security Minister of Georgia, told the reporters.

 “10 Russian jets bombed territory of Itlo gorge, near Pankisi gorge, early in the morning today”, the Minister said.

According to Russian news agency Interfax, Russian Ministry of Defense neglected the information clarified by Georgian officials about Russian jets having bombed Georgia.
