Russia Denies Bombardment of Georgian Territory
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, July 30, 2002) – Russian Air Forces press service officially denied reports on bombardment of Georgia’s Pankisi gorge on July 30.
The Russian news agency Interfax reports quoting the Air Forces spokesman that neither Russian fighter jets nor helicopters violated Georgian airspace.
The head of the Akhmeta district of Georgia, where Pankisi gorge is located told the reporters that the Nakerala mountains of Georgia were bombed.
