Germany Concerned Over Crime in Georgia
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, July 24, 2002) – German ambassador to Georgia Uwe Schramm expressed concern over the increased cases of crimes in Georgia during the meeting with State Avtandil Jorbenadze and Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili on 22 July.
German ambassador referred to the still unsolved murder of a German diplomat Gunter Beuchel serving with the EU mission in Tbilisi and the disappearance two weeks ago of businessman Klaus Droege.
British citizen Peter Shaw, abducted on June 18 is still detained by the kidnappers. The police claim all of these cases will be investigated in the nearest future.
