Vaziani Military Base Modernized

(Tbilisi, June 4, Civil Georgia) – Today the official presentation of the modernized Vaziani military base is held. Base at Vaziani was reconstructed with the financial support of the Turkish government.

Chief of the Department of Logistics of the Turkish Armed Forces attends the ceremony of the opening of the base.

Russian soldiers withdrew from the Vaziani base in 2001. At the base US military instructors will prepare four Georgian battalions in the frames of the Train-and-Equip program.

At the Vaziani military exercises Best Effort – 2002 in the frames of the NATO Partnership for Peace program will also be held on June 17-27.
