Terrorist Suspect Was Trained in Pankisi – Russian Security Chief Says
Nikolai Patrushev, Chief of Russian Federal Security Service stated today that several persons suspected in terrorist attack in Kaspiisk, Dagestan on May 9 are arrested and one of them was trained in Georgia’s Pankisi gorge.
42 people died after the bomb blast in North Caucasian town of Kaspiisk.
Earlier Russian MP Dmitri Rogozin stated that organizer of the terrorist attack was hiding in troubled Pankisi gorge. Georgian law enforcers did not confirm report.
On May 21 Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania stated that up to 100 Arab and 700 Chechen fighters are hiding in Pankisi gorge.
