Budgetary Shortfall in First Quarter of 2002

(Tbilisi, May 8, Civil.ge) – The Treasury Department of Georgia released results of the fulfillment of the state budget in the first quarter of the 2002 on May 8.

The state budget was fulfilled only with 88%. Shortfall consists of 36 million Lari [USD 18 million].

At the Parliamentary session today the Traditionalist faction leader Akaki Asatiani demanded from State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze to inform the MPs concerning the fulfillment of the budget.

In January the State Minister promised MPs that the budget of the first quarter would be fulfilled.
