Georgian Army to Diminish in Number

(Tbilisi. December 12. Civil Georgia) – Today Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security approved the National Security Council proposal to diminish Georgian army by 1020 soldiers. Further reduction of the military forces is planed.  

Georgia military forces consist of 38,400 soldiers at the moment.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee Giorgi Baramidze stated that by the 2005 Georgia should achieve the NATO standards.
