EU Officials Visit Georgia

Peter Semneby, visiting EU special envoy to the South Caucasus, along with Hugues Mingarelli, the European Commission Director for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, met with Georgian State Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Issues Giorgi Baramidze in Tbilisi on January 15.
 
According to the Georgian State Minister?s press office, peaceful resolution of the secessionist conflicts in Georgia was the focus of discussion during the meeting.

?We have discussed how the European Union can play a more active role in the peaceful resolution of conflicts in Georgia and which new mechanisms should be put into operation to accelerate our drive towards the peaceful resolution of conflicts on our territory,? Giorgi Baramidze told reporters following the talks with the EU officials.
