Burjanadze: Russia should Stop “Anti-Georgian Activity’

Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze told Sergey Mironov, Chairman of the Council of Federation (upper house of the Russian Parliament) during a meeting in St. Petersburg that Moscow should stop its “anti-Georgian activity.”

“Anti-Russian statements [by Georgia] will stop after Russia stops [its]anti-Georgian activity. I have explained this to Mr. Mironov… If Russia wants to show its positive stance towards Georgia, Russia should speak with Georgia on an equal basis and respect our legal and fair interests,” Nino Burjanadze told reporters on November 15 after talks with Mironov.

A Georgian parliamentary delegation led by Burjanadze is in St. Petersburg for the CIS parliamentary assembly. Burjanadze is expected to address the assembly on November 16.
