Georgian Foreign Minister Slams Russia’s Energy Policy

Speaking with European Parliamentarians in Brussels on January 25 Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili criticized Russia for using its energy supplies ?as a weapon of political influence,? Reuters reported.

“Russia seeks to exercise unrestrained monopolistic powers, constantly exploiting its energy supplies as a weapon of political influence,” the Georgian Foreign Minister said.

“This monopolistic and unprincipled position, that they employ the use of hard power with no respect for any overreaching international legal framework, will hardly enhance Russia’s role as a reliable energy supplier,” he added.
