France ‘Applauds’ Zourabichvili’s Work as Foreign Minister
In a brief statement issued on October 20 the French Foreign Ministry said that the dismissal of Salome Zourabichvili from the Foreign Minister?s position is Georgia?s ?internal political matter, which is not for us to comment on.?
?We applaud the work Ms. Zourabichvili did at the head of Georgia’s Foreign Ministry,? the statement also reads.
French-born Salome Zourabichvili, who was sacked on October 19, served as French Ambassador to Georgia. President Saakashvili appointed her as the Foreign Minister last March after taking permission from his French counterpart Jacques Chirac.
