Armenians Mark ‘Genocide’ at Turkish Embassy in Tbilisi
Dozens of ethnic Armenians living in Georgia gathered on April 24 at the Turkish Embassy in Tbilisi to mark the 90th anniversary of the 1915 events, wherein, according to Yerevan, the genocide of about 1.5 million Armenians in Ottoman Turkey occurred.
Participants of the rally demanded that the Turkish authorities recognize the 1915 slaughter as a genocide of Armenians. But Turkey insists that the number of those killed is inflated and the Armenians were victims of World War I and not of genocide.
