Justice Minister Not Satisfied With Ex-Minister Saakashvili’s Activities

Justice Minister Roland Giligashvili stated today that the situation in penitentiary system is terrible; therefore he intends serious changes in the staff. Giligashvili announced that unprofessional staff working during ex-Justice Minister Mikheil Saakashvili’s activity would be fired.

He also intends to complete construction of a new prison in Rustavi town, which was loudly promoted by Mikheil Saakashvili as his own achievement.

Roland Giligashvili is the Ministry of Internal Affairs former employee and he is commonly associated with the police old-timers and cuts against the trend instituted by Saakashvili in the Justice Ministry.

On the October 23 Giligashvili appointed Demur Mikadze, also former MIA employee on the post of the Head of the Penitentiary System.
