Parliamentary Majority’s Future Ambiguous
Many expected final collapse of the Parliamentary Majority as its session was held beyond the closed doors on September 20. However the integrity is maintained at least for now.
Although the Chairman of the Parliamentary Majority Niko Lekishvili pledged to maintain the faction integrity during the session, however another MP Gela Kvaratskhelia initiated the split. The Chairman of Parliament Zurab Zhvania also spoke in favor of keeping the faction intact.
It seems almost impossible to sustain the Majority after the recent parliamentary and Governmental crisis. The disagreement between the reformers’ wing and their opponents is evident. Even the members of Parliamentary Majority talk about the conflict openly.
