Tbilisi Is Against Russia’s Military Involvement in Pankisi

Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today that Georgia will never agree with Russia on joint military actions in the Pankisi gorge and neither it will tolerate direct Russian involvement. Official Moscow claims existence of terrorist camps in Georgia’s Pankisi gorge. Foreign Ministry of Georgia denies this information.

The MFA statement followed Russian Duma representative Boris Nemtsov’s announcement that “Russia should annihilate terrorists in the Pankisi gorge independently from Georgia”.
