1H 2013 GDP Growth 1.8% – Preliminary Data

Georgia’s real GDP grew 1.8% year-on-year in the first half of 2013, according to preliminary data released by the state statistics office, Geostat, on July 31.

Economy contracted 0.8% y/y in June after 0.2% growth in May (Geostat’s initial preliminary data released last month showed zero growth in May).

GDP grew 1.3% y/y in the second quarter of 2013 after 2.4% y/y growth in the first quarter, according to preliminary data.
