Saakashvili Meets Ivanishvili
President Saakashvili and leader of Georgian Dream coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is set to become PM, are meeting in the presidential palace.
After a handshake outside the presidential palace, Ivanishvili and Saakashvili, accompanied by their top aides, entered inside the palace for talks.
Negotiators from President Saakashvili’s UNM party and Georgian Dream coalition, who are in talks over smooth government handover, were also present.
UNM is represented by Giga Bokeria, Secretary of National Security Council; Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava; outgoing parliamentary speaker Davit Bakradze and outgoing chairman of parliamentary committee for legal affairs Pavle Kublashvili.
Georgian Dream is represented by Irakli Alasania, leader of Our Georgia-Free Democrats and nominee for Defense Minister; Davit Usupashvili, leader of Republican Party and nominee for parliamentary chairmanship; Irakli Garibashvili of Ivanishvili’s party and nominee for Interior Minister and Sozar Subari also from Ivanishvili’s party and nominee for minister in charge of prison system.
