Violence Against Anti-Homophobia Rally
Violence erupted in downtown Tbilisi on May 17 after police failed to contain aggressive anti-gay protesters, led by Orthodox clergy, from moving in direction of a venue where a small group of gay rights activists were planning to hold a rally to mark the International Day Against Homophobia. 28 people injured, among them several policemen and a journalist.
