Ex-Host of ‘Protest TV’ Changes Mind over Mayoral Race

Giorgi Gachechiladze, a singer with a nickname Ucnobi, who was one of the key figures behind last year’s lengthy street protest rallies through his reality TV show, said on Friday that he initially intended to run for Tbilisi mayor, but changed his mind.

He told Kavkasia TV that he had changed his mind after a request from his brother, a leader of an opposition public movement, Defend Georgia, Levan Gachechiladze. The latter, who was considered as a potential mayoral candidate, said last week he would not run.
