PM Says 2009 FDI May Reach USD 800 mln
The government expects that foreign direct investment figure will stand at more than USD 230 million in the fourth quarter of this year, PM Nika Gilauri said on December 30.
Total FDI for 2009 is expected to reach up to USD 800 million, he added. Georgia’s statistics office will publish final data on investments in next few months.
FDI fell by 60.44% to USD 505.1 million in January-September, 2009, against 1.27 billion in the same period of 2008, according to the Georgian statistics office.
FDI was USD 1.564 bln in 2008, down from 2.014 bln in 2007.
