Tskhinvali Releases 16 Georgians
Sixteen Georgian citizens, held by the authorities in breakaway South Ossetia, were released on October 30 and will soon be handed over to the Georgian side, Shota Utiashvili, head of interior ministry’s information and analytical department, told Civil.Ge.
Sixteen men were arrested by the Russian border guards, stationed in the breakaway region, on October 25 for, as Tskhinvali said, “violation of the South Ossetian border.”
Five Georgians, arrested in a separate case, were released on October 29.
