Kouchner Meets Opposition Leaders

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner met with some opposition leaders in Tbilisi on October 10.

Leader of the united opposition Levan Gachechiladze, Kakha Kukava of the Conservative Party and Koba Davitashvili of the Party of People participated in the meeting.

“We agreed to act jointly against Russia’s aggression; we also agreed that internal democratic reforms are necessary in the country,” Davitashvili told Rustavi 2 TV after the meeting.

Later on October 10, Kouchner will hold talks with President Saakashvili in Batumi. Earlier today he visited the Shida Kartli region and met local people.
