WB-led Needs Assessment Mission Visits Georgia

A joint needs assessment mission of international financial institutions, led by the World Bank (WB), visits Georgia on September 8-21 to identify the most urgent needs for post-conflict recovery.

The group involves officials from the WB, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, and the UN.

“The team… will assess the most pressing needs in areas such as infrastructure, environment, agriculture, housing, business environment, and the social needs of the internally displaced population and others affected by the crisis.  Findings of the joint work will be presented in a report expected to be ready in October 2008," the World Bank said.
