Signs of Russian Withdrawal from Gori

The Russian troops have removed their checkpoints in Gori and from the nearby heights and their armored vehicles are amassing now at the entrance of the town, Lado Vardzelashvili, the governor of Shida Kartli region, told journalists on August 22.

He also said that it seemed the Russian forces were preparing for withdrawal from the town.

Meanwhile, a local resident of the village of Gomi, in the west from Gori, told Civil.Ge on August 22, that the Russian troops removed checkpoints and withdrew from the village.
