Saakashvili: Georgia’s Progress will be Response to Embargo

President Saakashvili said on October 3 that the only way Georgia can respond to the Russia’s mounting pressure is “development, reconstruction and progress.”

Saakashvili was speaking after opening a newly built military hospital in the town of Gori and after the inauguration of the first part of a newly constructed highway near Gori.

“They say that we have been destroyed. However, we are building roads and there is no similar road in Russia; we have opened a hospital [in Gori] and there is no similar hospital in Russia,” he said.

“I tell you – this road will lead to Sokhumi, and much sooner than anyone might think,” Saakashvili said.
