Georgia, U.S. Outline Military Cooperation Priorities

Defense officials from the United States and Georgia outlined three priorities for future cooperation between the two countries during a two-day consultation in Batumi, Adjara Autonomous Republic, on September 12-13, the Georgian Defense Ministry reported.


Priorities include: U.S. assistance in Georgia?s NATO interoperability and NATO integration, continuation of the Sustainment and Stability Operations Program (SSOP) and structural reforms for transforming the General Staff into the Joint Staff.
 
According to the Georgian Defense Ministry, the sides described the military cooperation between the two countries as ?productive,” adding that it “needs to be sustained and developed further.?
