Opposition MP Stripped of Credentials
Parliament stripped Koba Davitashvili, leader of the opposition Conservative Party, of his MP credentials on September 7 in order to allow him to run in the October 5 local self-governance elections.
Davitashvili announced on September 5 that he planed to quit Parliament in order to run for the Tbilisi mayoral race.
An election coalition of the Conservative and Republican parties has nominated Davitashvili to run as a joint candidate.
