Watchdog: Some Violations, but Process is Normal

In general, the election is proceeding in “a normal way,” but there have been cases of grave violations, as of midday, Koki Ionatamishvili, the chairman of the election watchdog, New Generation – New Initiative (nGnI), said.

Specifically, he said, at one polling station in the Samgori district of Tbilisi, ballot papers for the plebiscites were not given to voters. “At the same polling station a ballot box was even opened by precinct members, so unfortunately, we have had to demand that the results be cancelled at that polling station,” Ionatamishvili said at a news conference.

He also said that at one polling station in the Saburtalo district of Tbilisi, voters with no addresses indicated in their IDs were registered in the additional voter list.
