Opposition Meets Burjanadze

Opposition politicians met with parliamentary speaker Nino Burjanadze and her deputy Mikheil Machavariani in the headquarters of the Georgian Orthodox Church on November 10 and agreed to continue talks later today in the Parliament.

Davit Usupashvili, leader of Republican Party; Kakha Kukava, leader of Conservative Party; Salome Zourabichvili, leader of Georgia?s Way Party; Davit Gamkrelidze, leader of New Rights Party and Zurab Tkemaladze, the leader of Industrialist Party participate in the meeting.

This was the first meeting between the opposition leaders and the ruling party officials after state of emergency was imposed in the country on November 7.
