Patarkatsishvili Quits Business Federation
Tycoon Badri Patarkatsishvili said he would quit as President of the Federation of Georgian Businessmen (FGB).
Patarkatsishvili said his decision was taken to spare the members of the FGB the kind of pressure that he said had been exerted by the authorities on Georgian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) members, Imedi TV reported on October 11.
He and some members of the GNOC have claimed that his suspension as GNOC President had been orchestrated by the ruling party.
Patarkatsishvili also said that despite his best efforts, the FGB, a business lobby group, had failed to become a meaningful body for promoting business interests because of the authorities? non-cooperative stance.
