Dozen Injured in Juvenile Prison

At least twelve inmates of a juvenile prison on the outskirts of Tbilisi and one guard were injured after infighting between inmates late on August 13, officials said.

?Inmates started fighting with each other,? Salome Makharadze, a spokesperson of the penitentiary system said. ?A prison guard who tried to settle the problem was physically assaulted by inmates.?
 
The spokesperson also said that some inmates had sustained self-inflicted injuries after shattering windows.

Makharadze stressed that ?inmates had no demands towards the prison administration?, saying the incident ?was just a scrap between several inmates.?
