MagtiCom to Develop E-Gov

The Georgian government has contracted MagtiCom to develop a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) to facilitate the easy sharing of information between state agencies.

A relevant memorandum will be signed between the Economy Ministry and the Georgian mobile phone company, on August 10.

MagtiCom will create e-government based on the government-to-government (G2G) model, wherein state ministries and departments will be able to share information through on-line interaction.

MagtiCom was selected by a governmental commission, which was chaired by Kakha Bendukidze, the state minister in charge of reforms, the Economy Ministry said.

The Economy Ministry also said that MagtiCom would also act as an internet service provider for the government.
