Georgia Briefs Foreign Diplomats on Air Attack

Georgia has handed over to foreign diplomats accredited in the country evidence, which Tbilisi thinks confirms the involvement of Russian aircraft in the bombing of Georgia?s territory on August 6.

Photo evidence as well as air traffic records have been handed over to the diplomatic corps, summoned on August 7 by the Georgian Foreign Ministry.

The Ministry said in a press release that after the meeting, the deputy foreign minister, Nikoloz Vashakidze and the foreign diplomats were due to visit the scene of the attack near the villages of Shavshvebi and Tsitelubani in Shida Kartli region, next to breakaway South Ossetia.

?This is a test case for the international community. Let?s see how strong the international reaction to this attack will be. This is very important in order to prevent reoccurrence of the incident in the future,? Vashakidze said.

Russia has denied any involvement in the incident.
