State Minister Meets Diplomatic Corps

Davit Bakradze, the new state minister for conflict resolution issues, met foreign diplomats accredited in Georgia on July 25. Russian Ambassador Vyacheslav Kovalenko was among them.

Bakradze said after his appointment on July 19 that active international involvement to resolve the South Ossetian conflict would be his top priority.

The meeting comes the day after the first session of a state commission, which has been tasked to define South Ossetia?s autonomous status within the Georgian state.
