Kokoity Reshuffles Cabinet
South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity has reshuffled his cabinet, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported on May 16.
He has moved Boris Chochiev from the position of deputy prime minister to the newly recreated Ministry for Special Affairs, where he will act as head, and the other deputy prime minister, Giorgi Sanakoev, has been dismissed.
Chochiev was appointed as the unrecognized republic?s deputy prime minister in January 2006 after the Ministry of Special Affairs, led by him, was abolished.
Chochiev also acts as the South Ossetian chief negotiator for conflict resolution and is a co-chairman of the quadripartite negotiating body, the Joint Control Commission (JCC).
