Saakashvili: Georgia at the Point of No Return
President Saakashvili said on November 23 that no one will ever be able ?to make Georgia kneel down,? and called on the population for unity and patience in a speech to mark the third anniversary of the Rose Revolution.
He was speaking on a Freedom Square in Tbilisi, where a new 40-meter monument of St. George has just been completed.
?Those who want to make Georgia kneel down will soon understand that they will fail and we will get stronger. This [pressure on Georgia] is even better for us because we will make our economy more flexible and stronger. But of course we are on the beginning of this road and we need patience and unity? Today Georgia knows the price of freedom. Good will always prevail over evil. Today Georgia is building a modern European state,? Saakashvili said.
He said that currently Georgia is ?at the point of no return? and ?we have no right to step back.?
?We should understand that Georgia has launched its new Didgori to finally achieve a victory,? Saakashvili said, referring to a battle in Didgori in the XII century that led to the unification of Georgia.
?St. George will lead a united, strong and honorable Georgia to final freedom. Georgia will be united,? he added.
