Man Killed by Mine Blast in South Ossetia

Shadiman Bliadze was killed and his son badly injured after the two men reportedly stepped on an anti-tank mine near the Georgian village of Kekhvi in the South Ossetian conflict zone on October 26.


The Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Merab Antadze qualified the incident as ?a terrorist act directed against the peaceful local population? and accused Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in the conflict zone of ?inaction.?
