S.Ossetian Official Condemns Dismissal of Khaindrava

Deputy Prime Minister of breakaway South Ossetia, Boris Chochiev, who represents the South Ossetian side in the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC), condemned on July 21 the dismissal of State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava.

?Resignation of Khaindrava once again confirms that the Georgian leadership is really against peaceful resolution of the conflict. Giorgi Levanovich [Khaindrava] was bravely defending the Georgian side?s interests during all meetings, but at the same time we believed that he was against forceful resolution of the conflict,? Boris Chochiev said in a phone conversation with Rustavi 2 television.

Giorgi Khaindrava, who was sacked on July 21, will be replaced by Deputy Foreign Minister Merab Antadze.
