Georgian State Minister Visits Tskhinvali

Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava left for the capital of breakaway South Ossetia Tskhinvali on June 3 to become acquainted with the situation involving the rotation of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the conflict zone.

The Russian side said that 500 Russian servicemen, who were replaced with a new battalion, left the breakaway region on June 3 and moved into the Russian territory via the Roki Tunnel, linking breakaway South Ossetia with the Russia’s North Ossetian Republic.

According to the State Minister’s press office, Giorgi Khaindrava will meet commander of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces Marat Kulakhmetov and officials from the breakaway region to ascertain whether all Russian servicemen left the conflict zone or not.
