Georgian, Ukrainian Foreign Ministers Discuss Cooperation

In a telephone conversation on February 23 Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili and his Ukrainian counterpart Boris Tarasyuk discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation. 


According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the two Ministers also discussed the perspectives of development of GUAM organization, uniting Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova, as well as energy security issues and the current situation in Georgia, including Tbilisi’s peace initiatives on resolution of the conflicts in the country.


The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced on February 17 that Ukraine is ready to send troops to the South Ossetian conflict zone if the UN or OSCE leads a peacekeeping operation there.
