Russian Official: Pipe Blasts Aimed at fuelling Russo-Georgian Tensions
Russian Deputy Chief Prosecutor Nikolai Shepel said on January 25 that investigators have not rulee out that those who blew-up two gas pipelines in North Ossetia aimed at triggering tensions between Russia and Georgia.
?We think that the explosions at the pipelines were aimed at worsening relations between Russia and Georgia,? he told Russian reporters.
The Russian Deputy Chief Prosecutor dismissed Tbilisi?s allegations that the Russian side is behind these blasts, calling them ?nonsense.?
?All these statements [by the Georgian officials] are not serious or, to be more correct ? nonsense,? Nikolai Shepel said.
