UN Envoy for IDPs Rights Visits Georgia

Walter Kalin, Representative of the UN Secretary-General on the human rights of Internally Displaced Persons, will pay visit to Georgia on December 21-24.

During the visit Walter Kalin will assess the extent to which the protection needs of the internally displaced are being met.

Georgia has roughly 300,000 internally displaced persons both from Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
