High-Profile Forum Discusses Post-Revolution Developments
The two-day forum “Europe’s New Wave of Liberation: Democracy and Transformation” will open on November 22 in Tbilisi with the participation of high-profile guests who arrived in Georgia to take part in the events marking second anniversary of the Rose Revolution.
Georgian President Saakashvili will make his opening remarks at the forum on Tuesday, followed by a video address by President of the World Bank Paul Wolfowitz and US Senator John McCain. U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary Matthew Bryza will speak about lessons of post-revolutionary reform at the Forum.
U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Tefft, Zeyno Baran of the Nixon Center and Georgian MP Giga Bokeria will deliver speeches about progress and challenges in post-revolution Georgia.
President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko, President of Estonia Arnold Ruutel and President of Romania Traian Basescu, who are expected to arrive in Tbilisi on November 22, will address the forum on November 23 and speak about the necessity to consolidate efforts for development of regional democracy.
