Nogaideli, Rice Discuss South Ossetia Peace Plan

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli, who is currently visiting the United States, met with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on October 24.

Along with other issues, the Abkhaz and South Ossetian conflict resolution was also discussed. Nogaideli told reporters after the talks that he acquainted the U.S. Secretary of State with South Ossetian peace plan.

?The United States promised to support our peace initiative. We will continue intensive cooperation with Russia, the de facto authorities of South Ossetia and first of all, with the people,? Nogaideli said.

He expressed hope that the sides will achieve serious progress in regards to the conflict resolution.
