UN-Led Georgian-Abkhaz Talks Postponed
UN-mediated Georgian-Abkhaz talks, which were scheduled in the breakaway Abkhaz capital Sokhumi on October 20-21, were postponed, the Georgian and Abkhaz sides reported on October 19.
The meeting is expected to take place sometime in November.
According to the office of the Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues, the sides failed to finalize a draft of a joint Georgian-Abkhaz declaration on security guarantees and non-resumption of hostilities.
The representatives of the UN Secretary General”s Group of Friends, involving France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States are also participating in these talks held in frames of UN-led “Geneva process.”
