PM Postpones U.S. Visit, Amid Calls to Sack Foreign Minister

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli, who has postponed his week-long working visit to the United States which was scheduled to start on October 19, met with Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze and discussed the recent calls by parliamentarians to dismiss Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili.

?I had a hard conversation with the Parliamentary Chairperson…The parliamentarians and the Parliamentary Chairperson are extremely radical and are demanding the Foreign Minister?s resignation. So, today I will hold talks with Mrs. Salome Zourabichvili, later on I will also have consultations with the President and only afterwards will I make a decision,?
