Saakashvili: Judiciary System in Crisis

President Saakashvili said on October 10 that the country’s judiciary system is in crisis, as public confidence in the country?s courts is significantly low.

Saakashvili was speaking at a meeting with 33 new judges, which was also attended by Chairman of the Supreme Court Kote Kublashvili.

?There is a serous crisis in our judiciary system. Currently, the police and Prosecutor?s Office enjoy more public trust than the courts. So it is high time to put an end to the difficult situation which persists in the judiciary system,? Saakashvili said during this meeting

According to the President?s press office, Mikheil Saakashvili guaranteed the judges that the executive authorities will stop interfering in the judiciary system.
